Testy ciążowe są to mechanizmy służące do wczesnego wykrywania ciąży. Ich
zadaniem jest wykrycie ciąży w
jak najkrótszym czasie po zapłodnieniu bez konieczności wizyty u lekarza.
Działanie testów ciążowych opiera
się na wykryciu obecności hormonu odpowiedzialnego za ciążę w moczu
kobiety. Hormon ten uaktywnia się
w organizmie kobiety w około tydzień po zapłodnieniu czyli powstaniu nowego
życia. Jest on wówczas
stopniowo wydalany z moczem dzięki czemu można wykryć obecność ciąży przy
użyciu testów ciążowych.
Zasada działania testów ciążowych opiera się właśnie na poszukiwaniu w moczu
kobiety hormonu HCG.
Testy ciążowe są zbudowane tak że po nałożeniu kilku kropel moczu na
specjalną podstawkę dochodzi do
reakcji z nałożonym tam antygenem HCG. Jeżeli w moczu kobiety znajduje się
HCG wówczas na kolejnym ze
wskaźników zobaczymy interesujący nas wynik w postaci zabarwionych kresek
odpowiedniego koloru.
